The Boiler Upgrade Scheme

The scheme runs from 2022 to 2028 for a maximum of 90,000 homes. £7,500 is available against the cost including installation and the grant is open to homeowners, as well as owners of small business properties, in England and Wales.

A quote from us as MCS approved installers will include the system with installation, and will include the grant from the Boiler Upgrade Scheme, as a deduction from the total amount.

You must have an in-date EPC for your property (or evidence of exemptions), to be eligable for the BUS grant.

Different Types of Heat pumps

Air Source Heat Pumps and Air Conditioning can both be used to provide heating within a home. Below we've outlined how each of these technologies work and how they can be used.

Air to Water

Known as Air Source Heat Pump

Higher Temperature:

This innovative range has a guaranteed operation at down to -25°C ambient temperature. It utilises the refrigerant properties of R290 to efficiently achieve high water temperatures up to 75°C and a low GWP (Global Warming Potential). This makes the R290 heat pumps the perfect renewable alternative to conventional fossil fuel boilers, with or without radiator changes or back up heaters, even no emersions, truly the last steps for a very long time.

Lower Temperature

More suited to newer built homes,  radiator upgrades may be required in some rooms, flow temperatures can be as low as 35c,  which works well with UFH and is aided by weather compensation (automatic mode).

Newer Refrigerants like R454c will be common place soon as EU already want sub 150 GWP, R290 & R454c will be capable for either new or old property.

Air to Air
Known as Air Conditioning

Air-to-air heat pumps transfer energy from the outside air to your room, no matter what the is temperature outside. The outdoor unit exchanges energy from the outdoor air. With the help of the refrigerant cycle, it releases the energy at a higher or lower temperature into your room through the indoor unit, depending on your heating or cooling needs. So your space will maintain the perfect balance in winter & the summer with the added bonus they look great and A+++ efficiencies they are cheaper to run than you would expect.

There are many options available, including floor standing - concealed - wall mounted - ceiling cassette - ducted.

Multi outlet units have become very popular, also there is now hot water cylinder heating from the same system.

Heat Pump Installation

We will work with you to create a bespoke heat pump solution for your property. Each building is different, and there are no 'one size fits all' solutions when it comes to air source heat pumps.

With our expert knowledge, you're in safe hands. We'll guide you through the process, delivering a tailored solution which suits you, your property and your heating and hot water needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why Choose a Heat Pump?

Lower running costs, compaired to oil and electric heating along with gas, heat pumps provide significant cost savings long term. Higher level of safety as they dont require fossil fuels at your property, there is no danger of a natural gas or carbon monoxide leak. There are no emissions at point or use. also with more and more electricity provided by renewable resources, heat pumps truly are the green alternative.

How Efficient is a Heat Pump?

To determine the efficiency is the Seasonal Coefficient of Performance (SCOP), which is derived from the product's Coefficient of Performance (COP) and the respective climate conditions of your area. The COP describes the general ratio of consumed electricity to supplied heat. For example, a COP of 4 means that the heat pump supplies four times as much heating power as it requires in electricity. The SCOP then describes this value more precise for your respective area. Concludingly, the higher a heat pump’s SCOP, the more beneficial its installation will be and the higher the yearly COP which you can expect.

How Does a Heat Pump Work?

Air source heat pumps use electricity to operate, and work in a similar way to a fridge, but in reverse. They extract heat from the air outside and use it to warm your home. For every one kilowatt of electricity used they can create up to four kilowatts of heat to warm your radiators and hot water.

George Clarke

"The way we design, build, heat, power and recycle our homes needs to change and change quickly, renewable heating is an important part of our future. I'm therefore delighted to associate myself with the market-leading brand of heat pumps which are made here in the UK and which can help reduce energy bills and lower emissions for

almost any home."
